- Effective December 2008, Mercantile Press is pleased to announce the live
deployment of their new EFI Pace MIS system.
- EFI Pace is an integrated, cross-platform suite of highly customizable
software modules that can be accessed from anywhere via standard Web
browsers.
- Data
collection off the production floor in real time means customers can
get instant, accurate job status, tracking and history information.
Pre-press Operations
- From
typesetting to plating we offer a full range of prepress options to fit
your needs. Our well trained staff can walk you through any of your
prepress needs.
- Full service Mac and PC based electronic
pre-press.
- We offer both contract and imposition proofing.
- State of the art hardware calibrated by a
certified network administrator.
- Computer to plate technology utilizing
process-free plate technology.

Security/Disaster Recovery
Mercantile Press has a 3-part disaster recovery
plan.
- Artwork:
All art files are incrementally backed up on a nightly basis; entire
production server is backed up weekly and taken off-site; tape back-up
is independent hardware from the server; MPI has redundant servers.
- Data (Electronic and Physical):
All data from job
tracking system is backed up nightly; all office data is replicated to
the production server and backed up nightly; all physical job jackets
are stored for 3 years.
- Manufacturing: MP has a
written agreement with a friendly competitor, located less than one
mile away to provide artwork, printing and bindery services in the
event of a catastrophic failure at MP’s location.
Quality Control
- We have an auditable ISO9002, cGMP compliant Quality Assurance System.
- Member of the American Society for Quality.
- We have established a comprehensive quality
policy and quality manual based on the requirements of ISO 9002.
- We utilize these guidelines as a way to
develop, monitor, audit and improve our quality system.
- Mercantile
Press uses various measuring devices from bar code verification to
sophisticated densitometers for measuring and maintaining ink densities
for consistent color.
- With input from our customers, we can
systematically provide information showing conformity to their
requirements.
